Keynote Address: Preparing to Lead

Presented by Pat Cunningham, NBAA Chairman and Director of Aviation, PepsiCo. Inc.

Superior technical knowledge isn't the key to a maintenance manager's success; everything depends upon how well you've prepared yourself to lead the maintenance department, even before an opportunity comes along. What's the best way to prepare for that opportunity? Is there any one path that's more effective than another? And once you're in a management position, is the learning ever over? Join us as NBAA's chairman addresses these issues from his own experience.

Branding Yourself for Success

Presented by Connie Ghuman, Connie Ghuman Consulting

Studies show that your perceived quality of work is greatly influenced by factors other than job knowledge, such as what you communicate through body language, tone of voice and attitude. Through a practical and hands-on approach, Ghuman will demonstrate how you can increase your impact on others and build rapport with your audience by making minor changes to the way you communicate, both verbally and nonverbally. This session will be revisted during the Conference Wrap-up on Thursday.

This session will explore who is on your asset management team and how you can optimize their contribution by your leadership and commitment to specific positive behaviors and actions. Real-world situations will be provided. Be ready to share ideas and take away specific leadership concepts that can be used immediately.
