The deadline for the 2010 Maintenance TRACS Scholarship has passed. The application for the 2011 scholarship will be available online by December 2011.

The NBAA Maintenance Committee is dedicated to promoting technical education and training as a means for business aviation maintenance technicians to enhance their careers. To support this position, NBAA offers current and aspiring maintenance technicians the opportunity to receive Maintenance Technical Reward and Career Scholarships (Maintenance TRACS) – which include aircraft, engine and avionics training awards – in conjunction with the following sponsors:

  • Bombardier Aerospace
  • CAE/SimuFlite
  • Cessna Aircraft
  • Dassault Falcon Jet
  • FlightSafety International
  • GE Aviation
  • Global Jet Services, Inc.
  • Gulfstream Aerospace Corp.
  • Hawker Beechcraft Corp.
  • Honeywell, Inc.
  • Pratt & Whitney Canada
  • Rolls-Royce, Inc.
  • StandardAero
  • WIlliams International
The following additional sponsors donated funds to help offset travel and lodging expenses incurred by award recipients during training:
  • Duncan Aviation
  • Midcoast Aviation
  • StandardAero

Sponsors will make scholarship awards available to recipients who will be selected by the NBAA Maintenance Committee. For a full list of awards, refer to the scholarship application.

Awards will be made to U.S. citizens or permanent residents without regards to sex, race, religion or national origin. Recipients will be announced at the NBAA 25th Annual Maintenance Management Conference, to be held April 6 to 8, 2010, in San Diego, CA. Maintenance TRACS awards will be redeemable under the conditions established by NBAA and its sponsors, and applicants are limited to receiving one award per person every other year; i.e., recipients of the 2009 scholarship are not eligible to apply in 2010, but they will be eligible to apply again in 2011.

Recipients must complete all professional/educational training and redeem the award within one year from the date of announcement, unless otherwise noted, or risk forfeit of the award. Recipients also are responsible for costs associated with the scholarship, such as travel and lodging expenses, unless otherwise noted.

A completed and signed application form must be accompanied by an essay, resume, letter of recommendation and (for students) proof of enrollment. See application form for details.

Applications must be received by NBAA on or before February 12, 2010. Direct all questions about this application to NBAA at (202) 783-9250 or info@nbaa.org.
