Description
The Schedulers & Dispatchers Committee provides input to NBAA on issues associated with scheduling and dispatching business aircraft, as well as other issues associated with business aviation service personnel. This Committee sponsors an annual Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference providing an important opportunity to exchange information on common solutions to problems faced by schedulers and dispatchers. The members of this Committee also identify training opportunities for scheduling and dispatching personnel working in business aviation. NBAA Members can forward questions, comments or suggestions to the Committee chair or NBAA staff liaison.
Mission Statement
The Schedulers and Dispatchers Committee was founded to further the professional growth and development for, and to heighten the awareness of, the contributions made by scheduling and dispatch professionals. Schedulers and Dispatchers are an integral part of the corporate aviation community. Through the practice of teamwork, the Committee focuses on the continuous improvement for, and professional recognition of, the Scheduler and Dispatcher.

Apply to Join the S&D Committee – Apply to become a Committee member, effective after the 2008 Conference. Note: 2008 candidates are eligible to apply between September 23, 2007, and March 1, 2008. Committee leadership then will review all applications and make a decision shortly thereafter and notify you. Interested candidates are encouraged to review the following documents:
Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference –This Conference is a valuable resource for assisting the operation of business aircraft and provides an important opportunity for individuals to increase their education, improve their level of professionalism and network with other aviation professionals.
Schedulers Professional Development Program (SPDP) – As an offshoot of the Association's main Professional Development Program, SPDP provides course offerings designed to meet the needs of schedulers and dispatchers.

This directory provides information on nearly 50 local business aviation organizations, including scheduler and dispatcher groups.
Scheduler & Dispatcher Outstanding Leadership & Achievement Award – This award, newly created in 2008, acknowledges an individual who shares their outstanding business aviation industry expertise, provides extraordinary service, exhibits leadership and has made significant contributions to the scheduling and dispatching function.
Summary of Recent Action
- Hosted record-setting NBAA 19th Annual Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference in Savannah, GA with more than 2,600 Attendees.
- Created a Conference highlights home page with podcasts and interviews at http://web.nbaa.org/public/cs/sdc/2008/.
- Increased Dispatch Daily publication coverage to two issues available onsite at the Conference.
- Select
Conference sessions were either podcast or video-recorded to be available after the Conference.
- Awarded $40,000 in 2008 Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarships to 8 recipients & $5000 to one recipient through the Canadian Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship.
- Training Awards given to 6 recipients.
- Recognized 9 individuals for their achievement in the NBAA Schedulers Professional Development Program (SPDP) by attending six or more SPDP sessions. Recognized 5 individuals for attending more than 11 SPDP sessions.
- Supported professional development and education by administering the NBAA Schedulers Professional Development Program (SPDP), which in 2008 had more than 200 participants, five educational providers, and more than 850 participants overall since its inception in 2000
- Supported the NBAA Dispatch newsletter, which facilitated NBAA communication with schedulers and dispatchers in the business aviation community
- Coordinated with 13 regional schedulers and dispatchers groups throughout the United States
- Continued to interact with an Advisory Council composed of founding members and past chairs of the Committee
