Quantum 3D/ALT Software
Two specialists come together across national boundaries – from San Jose, CA, to Toronto, Canada – to develop and market computer software to drive graphics for aircraft displays. Known as “middleware,” this highly sophisticated software is developed and sold to OEMs and avionics manufacturers to use in configurations that meet the needs of their product lines and customers. “We come here to meet with our (direct) customers,” said Rob Atkinson, direct of sales for ALT Software of Canada. But, he said, the partners also come to NBAA’s Annual Meeting & Convention (Booth #4181B) “trying to get pilots and engineers excited” about the quality of graphics displays that their software generates. Each company has about 100 employees, and the partners have been exhibiting at NBAA for three years. “We do a lot of business here. I got my biggest deal here last year, and the year before,” Atkinson said. He came to NBAA2007 with Ray Niacaris, director of EVC (embedded visual computing) software sales, Mark Snyder, director of EVC engineering at Quantum 3D, and Darren Gallipeau of ALT Software.
