Don’t miss the upcoming NBAA Business Aviation Regional Forum, coming to Las Vegas, NV, on April 24, 2008.

The NBAA Business Aviation Regional Forum is a day-long learning and networking experience designed to meet the needs of the regional business aviation community, and to provide an introduction to local business leaders interested in learning more about business aviation. The Las Vegas Forum will feature approximately 20 aircraft on Static Display, 60 indoor Exhibitors and hundreds of Attendees.

NBAA's Membership staff will be available to provide information on NBAA Membership benefits. Representatives from NBAA's Operations staff will be on-hand to answer your questions about business aircraft ownership and operations. Also, NBAA's Conventions staff will provide insight on the upcoming 61st Annual Meeting & Convention, scheduled for October 6-8 in Orlando, FL.

FAA ATC Traffic Management personnel will be available at the NBAA GA Desk/FAA Booth throughout the day. Have your questions answered on air traffic management procedures and policies in the western region. NBAA GA Desk personnel can brief you on Member services available from the GA Desk that complement FAA traffic management initiatives.

In addition to a Static Display of aircraft and dozens of Exhibits, this event will feature a number of seminars and briefings for the business aviation community in Las Vegas, Nevada.

International Aircraft Transactions

What is common and customary in the United States is not necessarily common and customary in other countries around the world.  These distinctions are defined with every aircraft transaction that involves participants from multiple countries.  During this session participants will learn how to:

  • Work through the major differences that occur when conducting international aircraft transactions;

  • Determine the optimal international locations to market business aircraft;

  • Manage expectations and contracting processes when working with a buyer or seller from abroad.

Risks and Resources for the VLJ Operator

Speaker: Doug Carr, NBAA

Very Light Jets (VLJ), the marketing term for the latest generation of small, turbojet-powered aircraft, bring jet performance and range to a much broader spectrum of potential customers. During this session participants will learn how to:

 

  • Prepare for the changing operational profile that VLJ owners and operators will encounter when upgrading from a twin-engine piston or turboprop aircraft;

  • Ensure a high degree of safety when managing operational considerations that may be unique to turbine aircraft;

  • Utilize resources, guides, and techniques available to new VLJ owners and operators.

Overview of State Tax Issues in Business Aviation

Recently a number of states have made modifications to tax policies that have significantly impacted business aircraft operators. This timely presentation will provide operators with the latest information on state tax policy. During this session participants will learn how to:

 

  • Understand the application of sales and use tax to aircraft with a focus on policies in the western states;

  • Identify common sales and use tax exemptions that may be available to business aircraft owners and operators; 

  • Understand the application of property tax and potential appeals strategies that could be used by business aircraft owners and operators.

NBAA Regional Forum Policies

Registration cancellation must be received no later than 10 calendar days prior to the event. Refunds will be granted less a $15 processing fee.

Children under 12 are never admitted on the Exhibit floor or at the Static Display of Aircraft. Children 12 to 18 will be permitted into the Exhibit hall and Static Display of Aircraft during official Exhibit hours only. Children 12 to 18 must register, pay appropriate fees and be accompanied by an adult. NBAA will not be held responsible by or for any cause whatsoever.

Any person who attends an NBAA Convention, Conference, Seminar, or other program grants permission to NBAA to use and publish his or her image or likeness collected in connection with the program for any usual and customary purpose of the NBAA, including advertisements for NBAA and its programs.
