Buying and selling business aircraft is a sophisticated process involving highly valued assets. Parties to any deal need professional representation, up-to-date product knowledge, an effective sales and marketing plan, accurate market intelligence, and an appropriate pricing strategy. This session, hosted by aircraft sales experts, is designed to answer the many questions intrinsic to aircraft sales transactions. Participants will learn how to:
- Work through the process of reviewing aircraft records and specifications, maintenance related issues, and tax and legal matters;
- Manage the pre-purchase inspection process- from choosing the facility location to the resolution of discrepancies and return to service dates;
- Ensure that regulatory conformity inspections for both domestic and international sales are properly completed.

On-Demand Operations Under Part 135 and the “New” Air Taxi Business Models – Has Everything (or Nothing) Changed?

With the dawn of the very light jet, a new crop of enterprising operators, from DayJet, Linear Air and Pogo, to name a few, have sought to provide new options for on-demand air taxi service conducted under Part 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. During this session participants will learn how to:
- Understand new business models being used in the on-demand marketplace - ranging from those based on per-seat sales, to fractional charters, to the sale of empty legs;
- Identify the sections of Part 119 and 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulations and Part 298 of the Department of Transportation’s Economic Regulations that apply to on-demand operations;
- Understand the types of operations permitted under existing regulations and what, if any, additional authorities are required.

Threat and Error Management: A Cross Functional Risk Management Tool for Business Aviation

Threat and Error Management (TEM) is a systems approach to safety first developed at the University of Texas. Embraced by air carriers worldwide, and recognized by the Flight Safety Foundation, Federal Aviation Administration, International Civil Aviation Organization, and International Air Transport Association as an aviation safety best practice, TEM offers a simple, intuitive, and practical approach for business aviation operators of all sizes to proactively identify and manage risk through all levels of its organization. During this session participants will learn how to:
- Understand the basics of TEM;
- Apply strategies presented in examples to implement TEM across all organizational functions;
- Utilize additional educational opportunities to assist with TEM implementation.
