Schedulers Make NBAA a Better Organization, Says Bolen
Savannah, GA, January 31, 2008 – NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen, who is slated to attend the NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Conference this Friday, says, “The energy and enthusiasm of the S&D Committee is very important to the Association.” He noted that the Committee has continuously enhanced the S&D Conference, and the expertise developed for this annual event has helped improve other NBAA meetings.
“The schedulers’ can-do attitude is an important reason why the Conference has grown,” declared Bolen, who believes that mindset can be applied to other endeavors. “This Conference is a tribute to a lot of people bringing their talent and expertise to the table, sharing their thoughts openly and having a willingness to experiment. When we all reach out collectively, we really can create something special.
“That is a reality that people need to understand and apply in a wider world,” continued Bolen, “whether it is presenting the image of business aviation to the public at large, keeping local airports open, demonstrating our value to our Member Companies or working on Capitol Hill. When we all work collectively, we bring about the best results.”
During his appearance at the Conference on Friday, Bolen plans to brief Attendees on the important issues facing business aviation, from the continuing user fee battle to emerging safety and security regulations and the growing awareness of the industry’s role in the environmental debate. With more business aircraft traveling overseas these days, Bolen believes it is particularly important for schedulers and dispatchers to be current on increasingly complex international operating rules.
Bolen urges those schedulers and dispatchers who have not already weighed in on the user fee issue to do so. He also encourages them to help elected officials and the general public understand the true nature and value of business aviation, particularly during this political campaign season.
