David W. Ewald Journalism Scholarship
NBAA established the David W. Ewald Journalism Scholarship in 2007 to benefit a student intending to pursue a career in journalism. The scholarship supports qualified candidates seeking careers in journalism, preferably with an aviation focus.
The scholarship is named in honor of the late Dave Ewald, who spent nearly 50 years serving the business aviation community as a magazine publisher and industry spokesperson. In 1958, he helped create Business & Commercial Aviation, and in 1989, he co-founded Flight Training magazine. In subsequent years, as a partner in Smooth Propeller Company, Ewald was involved in launching a number of other special-interest publications, including journals for NBAA.
NBAA will award $1,000 to a student who must be either enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited college or university program in journalism or a related area. A completed and signed application form must be accompanied by proof of enrollment, essay, resume and letter of recommendation. See application form for details.
Applications must be received by NBAA on or before August 15, 2007. Direct all questions about this application to NBAA at (202) 783-9250 or info@nbaa.org.
