NBAA President and CEO Shelley A. Longmuir (above, second
from right) joined U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Y. Mineta,
FAA Administrator Marion C. Blakey and the NBAA General Aviation Desk
Staff to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the FAA Air Traffic Control
System Command Center in Herndon, VA. With four GA Desk Staff members
based at the Command Center, NBAA was one of several sponsors for this
event. During the celebration, Administrator Blakey observed the contribution
the GA Desk makes in ensuring the security and smooth operation of the
National Airspace System.
