More than 100 members of the Southwest U.S. business aviation community gathered
on December 18 to honor past NBAA Board Member Durwood J. Heinrich (center), who received
the NBAA Silk Scarf Award. Heinrich stepped down from the NBAA Board of Directors
on December 17 following his retirement from Texas Instruments, where he was director
of aviation and chief pilot.
NBAA Southwest Regional Representative Paul H. Smith (right), presented the Silk
Scarf Award to Heinrich for his contributions to the aviation industry, particularly
through his participation on several NBAA Standing Committees and on the NBAA Board.
John L. Sullivan, director, Worldwide Security & Corporate Flight Operations (left),
