NBAA Announces Journalism Award Winners
Washington, DC, September 23, 1997 - The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA)
has presented its 1997 Gold Wing Award For Reporting Excellence to Perry Bradley, Business
& Commercial Aviation Magazine, and to Dan Lothian/Tony Dill, NBC News. Both awards were
presented today at the Kickoff Media Breakfast at NBAA's 50th Annual Meeting & Convention
in Dallas. In addition, the Association presented a special Platinum Wing Award to Robert
B. Parke for lifetime achievement in journalism.
The NBAA Gold Wing Award is presented annually for excellent, accurate and insightful reporting
on issues related to business aviation, by trade or non-trade media, in either print or broadcast
formats. The Award recognizes journalism's important role in reporting the significant contributions
of business aviaiton to the national economy.

For the 1998 Awards, stories must appear in print or on air between June 30, 1997, and June
30, 1998. Winners receive a $1,000 honorarium, as well as travel and hotel accommodations
for the 51st Annual Meeting & Convention, October 19-21, 1998, in Las Vegas.
The Platinum Wing Award Award recipient is selected by NBAA officials based on lifetime achivement.
NBAA represents the aviation interests of over 5,000 companies which own or operate general
aviation aircraft as an aid to the conduct of their business, or are involved with business
aviation. NBAA Member Companies earn annual revenues in excess of $4 trillion - a number that
is about half the gross domestic product - and employ more than 19 million people worldwide.
