Aarons, Pope and Brannigan Honored With NBAA Journalism Awards
Washington, DC, October 22, 1999 - The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA)
presented its 1999 Platinum Wing Award for Journalism Excellence, Lifetime Achievement, to
Richard N. Aarons, Editor at Large, Business and Commercial Aviation Magazine.
In addition, Stephen Pope of Aviation International News received NBAA's Gold Wing Award
for Journal Excellence in the aviation trade category for his article on the charter industry.
Martha Brannigan of The Wall Street Journal received the Gold Wing Award for Journalism Excellence
in the non-trade category for her article on the business aviation industry.
The Awards were presented on Tuesday, October 12 at the Kickoff Media Breakfast at the NBAA
52 Annual Meeting & Convention in Atlanta.
The Year 2000 Gold Wing Award applications are now available. For a copy, please contact

annually for excellent, accurate and insightful reporting of issues related to the business
aviation industry. The 2000 Gold Wing Awards will be presented for articles or stories that
appear in print or on air from June 15, 1999, to June 15, 2000. The deadline for submissions
is July 15, 2000.
