NBAA Announces 2004 Journalism Award Recipients

Contact: Cassandra Bosco

Las Vegas, NV, October 12, 2004 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) presented its journalism awards this morning during its Media Kickoff Breakfast on the opening day of the NBAA 57th Annual Meeting & Convention.

Dave Collogan, editor of the Weekly of Business Aviation and a featured columnist for Business and Commercial Aviation magazine, received the 2004 Platinum Wing Award, which recognizes excellence and lifetime achievement in journalism.

NBAA also awarded its 2004 Gold Wing Awards, presented annually for excellent, accurate and insightful reporting of issues related to the business aviation industry. In the trade press category, Fred George of Business and Commercial Aviation magazine received the Gold Wing Award for his story regarding safety issues and very light jets.

Applications for the 2005 NBAA Gold Wing Awards, which will be presented for articles or stories that appear in print, online or on the air from June 2004 to June 2005, will be available on the NBAA web site at www.nbaa.org/awards. The deadline for submissions is July 15, 2005.

NBAA represents the aviation interests of more than 7,700 companies that own or operate general aviation aircraft as an aid to the conduct of their business, or are involved with business aviation. NBAA Member Companies earn annual revenues approaching $5 trillion — a number that is about half the gross domestic product — and employ more than 19 million people worldwide. The NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention is the world's largest display of civil aviation products and services.
