TFRs and NOTAMs

TFR Resources

Graphical depictions:
FAA Graphical TFR System
In an effort to clear up the confusion of restrictions associated with TFRs, the FAA has made available graphical plots on their web site. This FAA web site contains a current list of TFRs and allows users to find TFRs plotted on Aeronautical Charts. This system is fully automated and refreshes every 15 minutes. Special interest NOTAMs can also be found on this web page.

Bureau of Land Management Graphical TFR System
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) graphically plots all TFRs established around Stadiums, Nuclear Sites, fire fighting areas, and other national airspace restrictions. Operators can search for TFRs by state or by type. After locating a TFR that affects your area, you can print part of an actual WAC or Sectional Chart with the TFR drawn on it. The BLM site is updated every 30 minutes during normal business hours Monday through Friday, and between 7am and 1pm (Mountain time) on weekends.

Textual descriptions:
Operators can use the FAA PilotWeb to find the textual description of a Temporary Flight Restriction. TFRs can be found by selecting “Center NOTAMs” from the main page, then “View All ARTCC TFRs” from the next page. This web site also gives users the ability to search for NOTAMs along a flight path, within specific Center Airspace, and within a defined radius of a location.

Airspace Alerts e-mail list:
NBAA offers a Members-only Airspace Alerts e-mail list to provide a single source for distributing information about upcoming TFRs and other airspace issues considered to have a significant impact on NBAA Member flight operations. Subscribe to Airspace Alerts.
